We'd be delighted to help you plan your bus trip in and around Nundle and Hanging Rock.
Nundle is one of those "must-see" places. A little gem in the New England-North West Region. Bus tours to the Tamworth Region often include a day or two to Nundle, Hanging Rock and the Trout Farm.
Catering for groups of up to 30 people at a time, we provide meals combined with a tour or morning and afternoon teas with tasting plates and a tour. Booking is essential.
As we are a working farm, it is important to know what to expect. We do not have a polished well-oiled tourism machine to offer visitors. However what you can expect is genuine country hospitality, great food and surroundings that many visitors call "a piece of paradise". We take pride in the awards we have achieved for our trout and trout products and we will gladly show you the natural environment that helps us produce such a good product.
Some typical tours are:
Available from 8:00 a.m. - our typical breakfast menu is fresh fruit juice, toast, scrambled egg with smoked trout, tea and coffee. This is preceded or followed by a tour of the farm, including feeding the trout and/or a demonstration and video of some of the processes in the factory. The popularity of this option is due to bus operators being able to be in Nundle to continue with the attractions as they open at about 10:00 a.m. Packages from $25.00pp, (one guide and driver at no charge). 15 people MINIMUM BOOKING.
Our typical lunch menu includes warm whole smoked trout with fresh garden salad, fruit platter, tea and coffee. This is preceded or followed by a tour of the farm, including feeding the trout and/or a demonstration and video of some of the processes in the factory. Packages from $30.00pp (one guide and driver at no charge) 15 people MINIMUM BOOKING.
From $10.00 per person we will provide tea or coffee and a tasting plate of our products. This can be with (extra $5 per person) or without a guided tour of the farm; 15 people MINIMUM BOOKING.
We are at Hanging Rock, about 20 minutes from Nundle. The drive winds up the mountain and the views are spectacular. There is about 6km of unsealed road which is well maintained by Tamworth Regional Council.
Thing to see on the way to or from the Trout Farm include:
Sheba Dams, constructed by Chinese miners in the Gold Rush days (now a camping and recreation area), Hanging Rock Cemetary with the Ashtons Memorial, Hanging Rock lookout, original and restored miner's and pioneer cottages, blackberries in season (late January into February), beautiful hills, mountain-top and valley views of prize winning beef farming land. In winter you may even see snow!
